STORY
Dillon was born in Leeds, United Kingdom where his father was completing his doctoral degree in law at University of Leeds, accompanied by his mother who was working as a fulltime gynaecologist. He's the only son of the Chinese descent Indonesian couple.
When he was 6 years old, Wangsaputra family moved to London and stayed in UK for another 6 years. As a kid, he performed well in primary school, but has always displayed a special interest for visual arts. His parents were supportive about it & registered him for art courses. Even though his parents are supportive on things he put his interest in, they still have high expectations of him and demanded perfect grades in school. Most of his childhood was spent with studying and going for extra courses.
At the age of 12, his family moved back to Jakarta, where they used to live before moving to UK. There, Dillon felt really out of place because of the language barrier as he only has an elementary proficiency in bahasa.
Knew this would come, his parents placed him in an international school where he attended for 6 years until he graduated from secondary school. He felt more accepted and found some meaningful friendships along the way. His performance in school was deemed as above average with exceptional achievements in arts and math subjects.
Most of his free time was filled with painting, playing basketball or playing video games. His closer friends see him as someone who's intelligent, reliable, and kindhearted. Others might think he's curtly and unapproachable with a wicked sense of humour.
In his senior year of secondary school, he made up his mind that he wanted to become a painter or an artist and wanted to study fine arts. At first, his parents disapproved and wouldn't allow him to go overseas. They wanted him to continue his father's footsteps in law or becoming a doctor like his mother. They had big fights about it, but in the end he managed to convince them.
Now
In July 2020, Dillon just finished his Diploma in Fine Art at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore and waiting to commence another year to receive his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art Practice degree.
